[Micronet] Fwd: [uc-mac-sig] FW: [UCI-Mac] Critical Update: Mac OS X 10.9.2, Mountain Lion Security Update 2013-001

Ian Crew
FYI.  This is a pretty important security update for Macs. There's also an update (to iOS 7.0.6) for iPhones/iPads that addresses the same issue. In both cases, check Software Update on your Mac/iOS device to get the update.

Ian,

Just checking 10.9.2 is Mavericks, right? Are there implications for Mountain Lion (10.8.x)? I haven't found any mention of it that is.

Yes, 10.9.2 is Mavericks. Apparently they also released an update for 10.8.x (Mountain Lion) today as well. This is a critical security flaw in Mac OS and iOS and should be updated as soon as possible. See the links in the message I forwarded for details.

Re: [Micronet] Fwd: [uc-mac-sig] FW: [UCI-Mac] Critical Update: Mac OS X 10.9.2, Mountain Lion Security Update 2013-001

Beth Muramoto
Thanks, Ian. Reason for double checking was that the subject line mentioned 10.9 then Mountain Lion so it was confusing to me. I have Mountain Lion and checked for the update. It wasn't there yet and I hadn't heard anything about it specifically so I wanted to confirm. I'll look for it and see if it eventually shows up.

Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate it. Sorry if I sounded "duh" for asking.

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in – forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”

                            -Emerson

This is the essence of forgiveness. You can't change what happened but you can make sure it doesn't have the power to prevent you from being happy tomorrow.

                             -Paul Boese

“Kind words do not cost much yet they accomplish much.”

                            -Blaise Pascal
