[Micronet] Summary of CalAgenda outage on May 25, 2010

Bernie Rossi
On May 24-25, 2010, CalAgenda, the online electronic calendar service
for faculty and staff at UC Berkeley, experienced problems due to
database corruption. Resolving the situation required taking the
calendar offline for approximately seven hours.

The CalAgenda team offers their apologies for the inconvenience this
incident caused their customers, and is instituting controls to make
sure this particular type of corruption does not happen in the future.

A complete timeline of the events of the outage is available on the
CalAgenda website, https://calagenda.berkeley.edu/outage-2010-05-25/.
