[Micronet] UC NeXt: a tool for collaborating on new ideas across UC IT

Aron Roberts
Devin Jones just sent the following to the Appnet list; wanted to share this with Micronet, as well:

--
UC NeXt looks like it has the potential to become what some of us had hoped the TechCommons project would be.  A point of collaboration and coordination between staff who don't normally have a mechanism to connect.

It's fairly lightweight right now, but check it out--

From their website, "UC NeXt is a community for UC[-wide] IT staff to work on new ideas together."

P.S. There was apparently a webinar about UC NeXt yesterday. If/when its video and/or slides are posted, they'll be on this UCOP website:

them up, and even pledge your time [...]

Re: [Micronet] UC NeXt: a tool for collaborating on new ideas across UC IT

Jon Hays
Great timing everyone!  Bill Allison & I have been working with our partner UCs & the CalNet team to make it easy for Berkeley IT folks to access UC Next with Berkeley credentials.

If you happen to be going to the UCCSC Conference next week, you will get a preview of UC Next prior to the keynote!

Best,

Jon

Correction: as Liz Marsh pointed out, this webinar is *coming up* two weeks from now: on Thursday, August 27, from 10-11 am.

You can find details on joining the webinar, as Liz noted, in this blog post:

P.S. Congrats to all involved with this. It's very cool to see a tool that facilitates crowdsourcing of collaborative opportunities and sharing of ideas across the UC IT community.
