[Micronet] any tips on inserting a hyperlink in a picture embedded in bMail?

Caryl Miller
Hi all,

Any thoughts on how to embed a hyperlink into an image that I've simply copied from a document on my desktop and pasted into bMail?   After some research, I found these instructions but my image is not from a webpage (and "drop and drag from any web page" doesn't seem to work anyway).

Thanks!

Caryl

You can add images into mail simply by dragging and dropping them into mail composer from any web page
so, in order to hotlink the image you would have to copy the image link location (image URL)
and create a new text file with notepad (Win) or textedit (Mac)

write this:

<html>
<body>
<a href="URL_OF_THE_WEBPAGE"><img src="IMAGE_URL"></a>
</body>
</html>

save the file (in notepad) as "File type:" Any files
"File name:" whatYouWant.html

and save it on the desktop, or where ever
now open that file with your browser and simply drag and drop the image in mail composer
that way image will be hotlinking to your desired web page

Caryl,

If you go into Settings, then Labs and enable "Inserting Images" you can easily insert an image, highlight it and then insert the link

See below, the 2nd image goes to www.berkeley.edu
