<base href="x-msg://42/">Hey Lucy,

It depends on if you have your computer protected by a password.  If the computer prompts for a password when you get out of screensaver mode or from sleep, then it is safe to just lock the screen; anyone who tries to access the computer will have to enter the password.  The added benefit is that your work won't be lost and you won't have to open everything back up again.  If you log out, you will have to reopen all your open documents and windows.
