[Micronet] software.berkeley.edu and adobe CSS

Lawrence Sweet

Micronet,

Just a heads up – software.berkeley.edu is granting CS5.5 licenses to Mac users but on Adobe’s site one cannot download that version  anymore (CSS6.x is offered).

I was not able to find a CS5.5 archived download site.

Hi Lawrence,

You can almost always find links to older Adobe CS Suite downloads on the ProDesignTools site. The instructions are a little finicky, but they generally work.

Download Adobe CS5.5 Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant or Manager) | ProDesignTools

Thank you,
Ben

Hi Ben,

Thanks…however, I have been there and found that the links are dead. It seems Adobe is steering us towards the newest version.

<base href="x-msg://638/">Hi Lawrence,

I just double checked and they work for me. The instructions are finicky and you really need to follow them exactly. The short version is first you log into your Adobe account, then you click on the link provided, then you can click on the download links.

But yes, Adobe generally steers people towards the latest versions although it is possible to get older ones with some work.

Thank you,
Ben

You can also get licenses for Adobe CSS 6, there is no reason to downgrade. http://ist.berkeley.edu/software-central/adobe
